A different Majorca

Puerto ValdemossaAs the summer approaches, we are sure some of you are thinking of visiting Spain, hot weather, sun almost 100% sure, sandy beaches… The Balearics are one of the favourite destination for English people for some of these reasons. However, today we will introduce you to a different Majorca, where the temperature is not as high and the little villages hide inside the mountains.

The Tramuntana Mountains are only half an hour drive away from Palma de Majorca, the capital of the island. There you can choose either to do some hiking or visit some charming towns. If your plan is to enjoy the nature just as it is, the best way is to look for a walk through the valley or up the mountain, whether you are an amateur or a professional, there are walks for everyone. If are planning to have a taste of the real Tramuntana style, you should visit Valdemossa, a wonderful little village where streets full of flowers and houses built in stone will delight your senses.

Further inside the mountains another picturesque little town is Deia, even smaller, it was the town of painters, just wander around the streets and be sure you get to the top of the mountain, where the graveyard has a fantastic view of the town and surroundings.

Another way of discovering the island of Majorca within a day!
