The New Forest offers stunning scenery in the snow, with weather hardy ponies and old English pubs, there couldn’t be a more beautiful place to spend a few days with a loved one. Staying in bed and breakfasts is the way to go, with small cottages in the garden of beautiful houses there is still the opportunity for privacy for courting couples. Long Romantic walks are always on offer, usually ending at a pub, where you’ll find friendly faces, roaring fires, good food and a hot mulled wine.

Some days ago we talked about the smallest hotel in the world. Today, we will also write about records, but in this case, it’s not about size, it is about price!

This original hotel is located in Ottensheim, Austria, 120 miles away from Viena. The dasparkhotel is situated in a park and is design is very peculiar, rooms are concrete cylinders with a double bed and a small window (do not go if you are claustrophobic!). Not the most confortable hotel, but when a new visitor arrives, he is given a map of where the showers, toilets, restaurants and supermarkets are and people really enjoy it.

The best part of it? You pay whatever you think the hotel is worth!

Amsterdam can be considered as one of the “small – big cities” to be visited at least once in your lifetime. You’ll be surprised by the thousands of bicycles that circulate the streets every day and the way that cars and trams move around harmoniously with them.

You’ll also be surprised by the large number of canals that run through the city giving it a special feeling, by the typical canal houses or by small houseboats. Furthermore, Amsterdam offers a wide range of cultural activities including many museums, theatres as well as emblematic squares and buildings.

This is an ideal place to get away for a few days or to take full advantage of a long weekend, seeing the city from morning until late at night and enjoy the atmosphere in the streets and its friendly people.

There are two hotels that claim to be the smallest in the world, so we will describe both, you decide which one you like the most!

The first one is in El Hierro, in the Canary Islands, and it has a total of 4 double beds. Getting to the hotel is not an easy job, as it is only reachable by car, through rough roads surrounded by a wonderful volcanic environment.

Once in the building, visitors will enjoy a fantastic view over the sea in one of the four unique bedrooms. The hotel is decorated with sea related objects, the bathrooms have boat’s wood floor and there are other recycled items such as port holes, nets and a scuba gear. An incredible place to enjoy a calm and relaxing weekend.

The second hotel can be found in Amberg, Germany. It only has one double room, normally reserved by just married couples. The building can be easily spotted, as it is the most narrow one in the street (only 2 metres and a half), it was built in 1728 and the decoration style is of the same period.

Means of transport: we love them, we hate them… They are a must in our lifes yet we know little about their history. Today we have decided to learn a few things about them, being curious we found out the following interesting facts:

• Toyota Corolla has been the most sold car so far. It sold more than 23 million units, even more than the famous beatle.
• San Francisco’s tramways are the only Mobile National Monument in the United States.
• Indonesia has the busiest road network in the world.
• “Mind the gap”, the announcement in the London Underground is so famous ther are t-shirts, mugs and other touristic merchandising with it.
