Yesterday’s Spanish strike, a protest against the government measures, caused travel disruptions in some UK airports. Some of the passengers travelling to Spain had to change their plans as they saw the cancelation of their flights, although airlines like Ryanair said there would be no extra charge for rebooking (or they will give the money back). BA rearranged flights so as to enable most of their clients to reach their destination.
Within Spain other forms of transport have been disrupted by the strike. Picketers tried to stop buses in some cities and closed roads in others. Other than that, the strike did not have major effects in transport and today airports and train stations are back to normal.

According to the International Civil Aviation Organization, 2013 can be the date when the liquid restrictions come to an end. The security measures concerning liquids were set up in 2006 after police discovered plans of terrorist that involved using liquid explosives. Nowadays if we travel with liquids in the hand luggage we can not have more than 100 ml per liquid and they all have to be taken out of the luggage in a separate transparent bag. However, the organization is now discussing if the measure can be removed. This will help travellers, as they will be able to fligh more comfortably and will also have to spend less time preparing for security.
Sometimes we don’t realise that when we buy a very cheap flight we will have to pay for the transport to and from the airport, and that’s what makes the flight more expensive. In Madrid, this usually happened with low cost flights, as the subway only works from 6 a.m and some of the flights take off at 6 or 6.30. This meant that the only way to get to the airport was to take a taxi (about 30€).

ccording to a report released this week, hotel prices have risen in the second quarter of 2010 compared to 2009. In the UK they have increased, on average, 3%. This means that hotels are recovering from the recesion little by little, as it is the first time since 2007 that prices go up in this sector.
This is the project presented by the italian company Avioninteriors in the Plane Interiors Fair in California. The aim is to save space and therefore economize the flight. It is, therefore, specially designed for low cost airlines, such as Ryanair, whose director has already shown his interest for the idea.
